Although the last year has been difficult due to COVID-19, CDCN was able to
run the Scrap-store during the autumn and open the gym. CDCN was also
able to help the community a little during the lock-down as you’ll read below.

Gym:
The gym is open and is a great success! We were well prepared and got it open as soon as we legally could,
31/08/20, and on that day we were able to induct six people. The gym saw its first use by clients on the 1st of
September. At the time of writing we’ve inducted 83 people and the gym is being well used. Please contact our
Development Officer at: developmentofficer@cdcn.co.uk to register your interest in joining. And please read more
about the gym here: https://www.cdcn.co.uk/gym

CV-19 news:
CDCN was able to use some CV-19 related grant support to help the community: by helping support the Skellister
Stores with their grocery deliveries, by distributing grow bags and by upgrading our office space to offer to people
for free — there is still time time and space available in the office — if you are interested then please contact our
Development Officer at: developmentofficer@cdcn.co.uk

Next projects:
Our architect has prepared designs for new developments at the Aald Skül, including a new building, a glamping
area and a polycrub & allotment area; these will be available to view on display boards fixed to the end of the
Scrap-store from the 28th of February. You can also view them on this webpage:
https://www.cdcn.co.uk/upcoming/proposed-developments-at-the-aald-skul
A paper copy of the Feasibility Study Report can be made available on request.

Avyanna, Beauty Salon
CDCN is very exited to announce the opening of a beauty salon in the Victorian building at the Aald Skül. Leeann
is opening Avyanna on the 28th of February, please see the advert on the back of this newsletter for further details!

Other news and announcements:
● Due to the ever growing amount and complexity of CDCN’s business, CDCN has recruited an admin
assistant, Lynda Jozwik; she’s off to a great start and is a valuable member of our team as CDCN
moves forward.
● Skellister Stores is still offering a delivery service, please phone them on 890 374 if you’re interested.
● In spite of being closed for three months last year, and having to contend with CV-19 restrictions, the
Scrap-store managed to raise an incredible £13,000. This enormous achievement is largely due to the
dedicated volunteers that run it, all the loyal customers and all of you who kindly donate items — thank
you, and please continue to support the store.
● CDCN is planning a small project to enhance the community — there will be details about that in the
next newsletter...
