About the Recreation Area
The recreation area beside the Aald Skül and Benston Loch provides a peaceful outdoor space for residents and visitors.
The area includes paths, a bird hide, picnic benches and other seating. Visitors can enjoy a short walk, watch local wildlife, have a picnic or simply spend time outdoors.
Trees and biodiversity

The young planting is still establishing in Shetland’s exposed conditions, but over the coming years it should become an increasingly visible part of the recreation area, providing shelter and habitat for wildlife.
