CDCN has secured £14,758.31 through the 2025–26 Shetland Community-Led Local Development programme to improve community facilities and energy efficiency.

CDCN is delighted to have secured a grant of £14,758.31 through the 2025–26 Shetland Community-Led Local Development programme.
The award will support our Developing Community Assets and Improving Energy Efficiency project, a £15,535.06 programme of practical improvements across the Aald Skül, Nesting Scrapstore and Nesting Gym.
Planned work includes new LED lighting and heating in the Scrapstore, electrical resilience work linked to the site’s energy systems, a commercial washing machine and tumble dryer, a community printer and copier, an assault air bike for the gym, and new office kitchen equipment.
These improvements will make local facilities more comfortable, efficient and resilient, strengthen the services available to residents and community groups, and reduce the need for some journeys to Lerwick.
The grant represents 95% of the approved project cost. CDCN will provide the remaining £776.75.
